Saturday Styles with Joanna Gaines

Hey everyone and welcome to our first Saturday Styles! I'm excited to talk about this because I know how much we all love her. We'll be talking about HGTV's beloved Joanna Gaines from the hit TV show Fixer Upper!

Last Summer I began watching episodes of Fixer Upper on Netflix and absolutely fell in love with that show! She is a beautiful person, inside and out and her home design and decor work reflect it. She has such a clean, vintage, soft, country-chic look to her designs that is so elegant and lovely. She has an eye for unique pieces that can be used or re-purposed to give her rooms the desired look that has become her signature style.

Speaking of style, Joanna's home decor isn't the only thing viewers, like myself, are craving. She has such a casual wardrobe that makes her look relaxed and effortlessly beautiful. She always has her hair done in a soft style, usually with some curls, that completes her look. She is often seen in a simple pair of jeans or a casual dress and is almost always paired with cowboy boots. For the most part her shirts ans dresses are plain in color and may have a light texture to the fabric. She keeps it simple and that's what I love about her. She can wear a baseball shirt and hat and be smudged in dirt from the project she's working on and still look nice. I know this is TV but it's her soul that really makes everyone love her.

Think with me for a moment. If Joanna had the worst personality in the whole world and everything else about her was the same, would we still like her? Think about it. You're watching the show and you can absolutely not stand how she's treating anyone and she's in general a nasty person, would you like her? I can guess the answer would be no. The truth of the matter is, along with her beautiful style in home design and personal style she also has a genuine heart. Joanna (and her husband, Chip) take every opportunity to make their show as positive of a place as possible and are constantly throwing out compliments to one another. They may joke and toss a few sarcastic comments here and there, but that's all done in love. My theory is that we love her style because we love what a nice person she is and can therefore see the beautiful and creative person behind the heart of gold.
